We buy mini and compact excavators
Mini excavators are the machines owners buy for one big project, a utility contract or a landscaping season, and then find parked behind the shop. Core Asset Group buys compact excavators from contractors, plumbers, landscapers, fence and irrigation crews, farmers, rental fleets and homeowners. If it's roughly 1 to 10 tons and 12 years old or newer, we want to hear about it.
Models we see often include the Kubota KX040, U35 and KX057, Bobcat E35 and E50, CAT 303.5 and 305 CR, John Deere 35G and 50G, Takeuchi TB240 and TB260, Yanmar ViO35 and ViO55, plus Case, Kobelco, Volvo and Hyundai minis. Not on that list? Send it anyway.

What helps us price your mini
- Hours and year. A clear photo of the hour meter and the serial plate.
- Undercarriage. Rubber track condition, sprockets and idlers.
- Options. Enclosed cab with heat and A/C, angle blade, long arm, hydraulic thumb, quick coupler and auxiliary hydraulics.
- Attachments. Extra buckets, a grading bucket, hammer or auger all add value, so list them.
Our offers are based on recent auction comps for the same make, model, year and hours, adjusted for condition, so the number we give you reflects what minis like yours are actually bringing right now.
The 12-year rule, running or not
We buy mini excavators that are 12 years old and newer. Inside that window, condition doesn't stop the conversation. A machine that's ready to dig, one with a swing motor leak, a blown track, a cracked boom cylinder or an engine that won't turn over: tell us what you know and we'll make an offer.
Still owe on your mini? A lot of compact excavators are financed, and that's fine. When you reach out, just tell us whether you own it outright or still owe on it. We work with sellers who have a loan and will walk you through how the payoff is handled. More on that on our selling equipment you still owe on page.
How selling your mini excavator works
- Send the details. Make, model, year, hours, location and four to six photos (all sides, cab, hour meter, tracks).
- Get an offer fast. We check the auction comps and come back with a straightforward, no-pressure offer.
- Get paid and we pick it up. Accept, get paid, and we bring the trailer. You don't need to load it or deliver it anywhere.
